About Us
Who we are:
The Makerspace is a collaboration between the grant funded Upward Bound Program, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the nonprofit T3 Alliance (Teaching Through Technology). Our Makerspace is connected to a web of T3 Makerspaces throughout Alaska who can share ideas and support each other remotely.
T3 Alliance's mission is to engage educators in a proven adaptable framework that empowers students to strengthen their communities.
T3 Alaska engages the growth mindset framework to empower students to strengthen their communities, creating the next generation of innovators and leaders.
The grant funded Upward Bound project reaches across the state to assist eligible students in small, rural high schools. The program attempts to improve the graduation rates of high school students and increase the number of graduates who continue on to enter post-secondary education, especially Universities and colleges.
The Makerspace is open to all UAF students. The Climate Scholars Program and the Engineering Department teach classes based out of the makerspace.
