3-Axis CNC Milling
Material Setup:
Choose material to be used.
Cut material to desired size (It cannot be more than 300mm x 320mm)
Measure and mark the center of the material with a pencil
Measure and mark the center on each side of the material
Measure and mark the workspace area of the material (Workspace is the area inside the clamps)
Measure the thickness of your material with Calipers
Quick tip: Write down the dimensions on the material so that you can reference them during programming
Programming:
Click on CNC 3-axis and open up desired .svg file
Click Job Setup input the size of your material workspace
Input the size of your material workspace
Select work origin as CENTER
In the Edit Tab
Move the object to center of the workspace
Resize file to desired size
In the Process Tab
Select Create Tool Path
Name: Rename if desired
Method: Choose whether the tool will cut on/next to/inside the line
Target Depth: Type the depth of the cut
Tool: Choose the tool that you picked out earlier
Work speed: Adjust to material specifications
Stepover: Half of the Tool Diameter
Jog Speed: 3000 mm/min
Jog Height: 1mm
Stop Height: 10mm
Use Tab: Check if doing an Outline Cut
Tab Height: 1mm
Tab Space: Depends on size of object, must have at least 3 tabs to constrain the object
Tab Width: 3mm
Double Check tool paths
Click Generate G-Code and Preview
Click the arrow next to Export and click Load G-code to Workspace
Set up the cut:
Turn on the Snapmaker CNC via the switch on the back of power module
In Luban Workspace:
Connect to T3 Snappy via Wifi
Click Send to Device via Wifi
Clamp down material by lining up the side center marks with the lines on the cutting table
Choose which tool you want to use.
Load tool
Take the ER11 Nut and Collect off the CNC Head
Insert the Shank of the tool into the Collet
Insert until the back of the Shank is flush with the back of the Collet
Hand tighten the Nut and Collect onto the CNC
Use the 14mm Wrench on the Shaft and the 17mm Wrench on the Nut to tighten the Nut.
Bring the wrenches together to tighten and push the wrenches apart to loosen
