MUSE Laser Cutter
Preparing a file:
Open RetinaEngrave with the URL re3.netlify.app
Either create your design using the tools in the workspace, or import a file* using the "file->load project from file" option
*For vectors, import an svg file. For rasters, any image file should work.
NOTE: When importing an svg file into re3, make sure that all lines are joined. This can be done using Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape.
Double check that your design uses the appropriate settings and parameters.
Setup Instructions:
Turn on both the Laser and Water Pump (check that there is water in the tank)
Check that machine is clear of debris.
On computer: type “fsl.local/designer” into the URL to open up RetinaEngrave
Upload your file into RetinaEngrave using the "file->load project from file" option
Material-Specific Parameters:
Raster Speed/Power Grid
Focusing the Laser:
Each time a new type of material is used, you need to use the Focus Puck to set the Z-Axis height of the laser. To focus the laser:
Loosen set screw on the left side of the laser head.
Place the Focus Puck between the material and Laser Head Nozzle
Tighten the set screw until it is finger tight.
Remove Focus Puck
Running a Print Job
Make sure that all of your parameters are correct.
Place the material that you would like to cut/engrave onto the material bed.
Click the "run perimeter" button on Retina Engrave (not on the cutter's screen).
Adjust your material/file accordingly.
When you are ready, click "run job."
